Allied forces are increasing their efforts to destroy terrorist strongholds in Syria in the wake of the Paris terror attacks, and Russia is leading the coalition with a series of bombings to wreck what are believed to be ISIS-controlled oil facilities.
Russian President Vladimir Putin recently made headlines by saying, “To forgive the terrorists is up to God, but to send them to Him is up to me.” True to his words, he sent Su-34 bombers to destroy the main sources of the terrorist group’s finances: the oil facilities.
According to the Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Col. Gen. Andrei Kartapolov, around 500 fuel tankers used to illegally transport oil from Syria to Iraq were destroyed in what they call a ‘free-hunt’ mission. With improved detection efficiency on terrorist facilities using all methods of intelligence, they’re out to put an end on the extremist militant group.
In other words, it’s open season on Daesh.
