Marty McFly’s “Back to the Future” hoverboard experience is now getting real when one man etched himself in the record books with the farthest flight ever made on one. Catalin Alexandru Duru attempted to fly on a prototype hoverboard he created himself.
To be included in the Guinness Book of World Records, Catalin must travel on his hoverboard with a minimum distance of 50 meters (164 feet). He wanted to show the world that a stable flight can be achieved on a machine that he can stand on and control with his feet.
His successful attempt had him travel a total distance of 275.9 meters (905 feet, 2 inches).
