This is the hilarious moment a brazen seagull strolls into Greggs, picks up a packet of salt and vinegar crisps with its beak, and then sprints away to share it with his friend. The cocky bird didn’t have a care in the world as it carried out its daring theft at the branch of Greggs on Ayr High Street in Ayrshire, Scotland. In another twist, it has emerged that the bird is a serial offender, having raided the same store three times.
The chain has previously been targeted by gulls with the bird in the footage being the most frequent offender. Caitlin Hamilton, from Ayr, posted the video to Twitter after spotting the gull while she was on a break from work. The 21-year-old said she had been having a bad day, but was immediately in stitches after capturing the bird snatch a packet of Walkers salt and vinegar crisps.
The four second video has now had over 161,000 views since it was posted yesterday. Ms Hamilton posted the video, which now has over 7,900 likes, with the caption: ‘Ayr’s got the hardest seagulls.’ The short clip begins with the brazen gull carefully inspecting the crisp selection inside the high street store.
The bird decides on a packet of salt and vinegar crisps, grabs it in his beak and, pausing to make sure the coast is clear, bolts out of the door. Although it was not captured on video, another gull was waiting outside and the pair quickly devoured their ill-gotten gains.
