Dramatic Moment Hero Customer Rugby Tackles Knife-Wielding Robber As He Holds Up A Bargain Booze Store

Incredible footage has captured the moment a hero customer rugby tackled a knife-wielding thief after he tried to rob an off licence.

CCTV shows a masked man enter the Bargain Booze store and wave the 6-inch blade in the faces of customers, seemingly directing them to the back of the store. As the thief threatens staff with the knife, one customer launches himself at the robber, catching him off guard and staggering him.

The customer then wrestles the thief to the ground, narrowly missing the knife’s blade as the robber’s arm fails in the air during the struggle. Another customer, Liam Rood, said he helped the Good Samaritan pin down the man shortly after he had been grounded.

Police have confirmed that officers were called to reports of a robbery at the off-licence at 9.50pm and that two members of the public intervened. Officers have arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery following the incident in Cheadle, Greater Manchester.
