An elderly woman spotted with her two walking sticks struggling over a level crossing has been saved from “near disaster” thanks to the quick thinking of two bystanders.
The incident happed in Saddlebrook, New Jersey in the USA.
The 89-year-old tried to walk across a train intersection when the gates started to come down and the lights started to flash. Realizing the OAP wasn’t going to make it over before a huge transit train came flying past, a 28-year-old man risked his own life to help her.
Jonathan Mango was waiting in his car and rushed, along with another good Samaritan, who was not identified, to get the woman off the tracks before the train passed. The dash cam footage was taken from Mr Mango’s car. After the rescue and ambulance was called and found the woman was uninjured but shaken.
