Video has emerged showing paramedics rushing to the aid of a man who was found nailed to a tree in Albuquerque, New Mexico in May.
A government worker found Jose Duran nailed to a tree in the city’s Bosque a type of forest found in the southwestern U.S. That man quickly ran to get help, and the video, obtained by KRQE, was recorded by one of the men who came to help Duran. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, Duran was still nailed to the tree and was groaning in pain. At first, Duran wouldn’t give his name or answer questions about how he ended up there.
But eventually he admits that it was two men who nailed him to the tree after a real estate deal gone wrong. Emergency workers helped take Duran down from the tree and the video ends with him leaving the grove, his hands wrapped in bandages and two other men helping him walk. At the hospital, he spoke more about the attack.
He said it was the third time they had attacked him. It’s still unclear what happened to the man. Shortly after the incident in May, KOAT reported that the man had changed his story three times in interviews with law enforcement. Police say they have made no arrests in the case.
