Breaking world records has its risk, especially if it involves going beyond the limits of what the human body can achieve.
They don’t call Eddie Hall ‘The Beast’ for nothing. And after breaking his own world deadlift record after lifting 500 kilograms (1,102.31 lbs), it almost came with the ultimate price.
Hall competed at the World Deadlift Championships in England, smashing his previous record at 465 kg he set that same night, but almost killed himself doing so after convulsing and passing out from the extreme strain on his body.
That’s a little over half a ton of weight, which Hall said he may try to break again sometime in the future regardless of the risks involved.
