The Cold War era had a large number of people fear an impending nuclear war of an apocalyptic magnitude, so some decided to build bunkers to house and protect their families from the destruction and fallout. With money to spend, one man skipped the basics and had one built for luxury, because why not?
Back in the late 70s, a rich Avon executive built a luxurious bunker beneath his regular Vegas home in case countries decided to nuke each other out.
The bunker sits below a 16,000-plus-square-foot property and is actually a house beneath a house.
The self-sustaining underground house that sits 26 feet below the ground features a swimming pool, hot tub, barbecue grill, fireplace, three bedrooms, a bar and other basic facilities.
It even has a separate guesthouse, a dance floor, a putting green and lights that change depending on the time of day, with gorgeous murals surrounding the ‘outside’ area.
The property reportedly costs $10 million to build, and was being sold at a bargain price of $1.7 million.
Perfect for an imminent zombie apocalypse.
