Holy house party. Six people were injured at a University of North Texas homecoming party when a third floor apartment collapsed under the weight of several lit students. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured and the apartment below was empty.
The shocking incident unfolded around 2 a.m. Sunday at an apartment building in Denton occupied primarily by students from the University of North Texas. No serious injuries were reported, but six people suffered minor injuries after the floor gave way, sending partygoers at The Ridge at North Texas apartment complex to the second-floor apartment below.
Dozens of people are seen crawling on the floor below, while others try to maintain their balance as the third floor crumbles away. Many guests captured the melee on their cellphones and several videos of the incident were later posted on social media.
The residents of the apartment the floor fell into were not home at the time of the incident, but they have started a GoFundMe account to raise money to replace the furniture and miscellaneous items that were destroyed in the accident.
